HBIM Platform:
Integrated Heritage Intelligence for Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia is undergoing an unprecedented cultural transformation. Heritage assets are no longer viewed solely as historic artifacts; they are becoming strategic national assets that contribute to identity, tourism, education, and economic diversification under Vision 2030. However, the preservation and management of heritage assets require more than documentation. They require intelligent systems capable of integrating data, analysis, and decision-making tools.
FalconViz HBIM Platform introduces an advanced digital environment that transforms fragmented documentation into a centralized, interactive heritage intelligence system. By integrating BIM models, reality capture deliverables, structural and architectural assessments, and historical documentation into one interoperable platform, the solution enables informed preservation, efficient asset management, and immersive stakeholder engagement.
The platform has already been deployed for historic buildings in Historic Jeddah (Al-Balad), demonstrating its ability to support conservation workflows while enabling scalable digital transformation across the Saudi heritage sector.
Heritage in Saudi Arabia: A Nation of Heritage
Saudi Arabia has one of the most diverse cultural heritage landscapes in the Middle East, reflecting thousands of years of civilization, trade, and cultural exchange. According to the Saudi Heritage Commission, the Kingdom includes over 9,000 registered archaeological sites and more than 28,000 urban heritage sites across its regions. Saudi Arabia also has eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including Hegra (Al-Hijr), At-Turaif District in ad-Dir'iyah, Historic Jeddah (Al-Balad), the Rock Art of the Hail Region, Al-Ahsa Oasis, Ḥimā Cultural Area, and other globally significant sites.
As national heritage inventory continues to expand, the need for advanced digital tools to organize, visualize, and manage heritage data becomes increasingly important. Platforms such as HBIM support scalable documentation and long-term heritage management.
“The future of heritage preservation is not in archives, it is in intelligent platforms that make knowledge accessible, immersive, and scalable.”
